Blog 2: Utopia and Dystopia

Utopia; An ideal place or state.  URL: "http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/utopia?s=t"
Dystopia; a society characterized by human misery, as squalor, oppression, disease, and overcrowding.  URL: "http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/dystopia?s=t"
I believe an Utopia is a perfect society whom everyone dreams to live in at some point in life. I believe that this society is so clean no pollution, no crimes, and anything bad. It is a area where one could feel safe, walking down a street not worrying about what could happen; at any given moment. A utopia is a fictional area of land that we all know will never happen only in movies. On the other hand an Dystopia defines the area that we all live in today. The population of the world keeps increasing by the minute, which causes all the characteristics of a dystopia. A utopia is the complete opposite of a dystopia. When you think of utopia you think of a heavenly clean place, where nothing goes wrong. A dystopia just sounds like a disgusting word let a lot on the definition behind it. A dystopia is filled with global warming, all sorts of diseases, unhealthy land to live in. And sadly we live in this so called land described by the definition of a dystopia. We breathe in this air that we know is so polluted but we have no other solution. I truly believe that this land that we have used to be an utopia until all these advancements in technology and the industrial revolution was created. Some examples that come to mind when I think of a utopia is heaven, park, a private beach, and etc. Some examples that come to mind when I think of a dystopia is the land we live in, a hospital, these poor countries, and etc. Bascially I wish we lived in a utopia live would have been so less stressful.
